'Strange and wondrous and disquieting.'—Sarah Laing, Newsroom

'...reading the strange and wonderful Audition is like listening to a concept album of experimental music that samples the familiar and turns it into the uncanny, where each track builds on the last until finally the listener floats off on an ecstatic bed of epic electronica. Rather than emulating what has gone before, it adds to a cumulative understanding of realms outside our ken, and asks us to critically examine our society..." —Rachael King, NZ Listener

Introducing Mātai: Welcoming a new kurī to our Read to Kurī sessions.

We're so happy to announce that our popular Read to Kurī sessions will be continuing in 2024, and there's even a new dog joining us!

“Kia ora!  My name is Mātai (pronounced maa-tie) and I’m a 4 year old Golden Retriever. I’m a very chilled out dog with a very warm and patient nature.

I love people and especially children. They are super fun to hang out with.
I enjoy sitting or lying listening to stories, and when the time is right, playing. My favourite place is the beach. I have fun chasing sticks and balls, playing tug of war, and swimming (even when my mum has told me it’s not swimming time).

I think I’d like listening to you reading me a story.”
