Te Wiki Kaumātua - Seniors' Week Week

Te Wiki Kaumātua Seniors' Week runs 1-8 October and 2023's theme is pēperēkou, tōna ao katoa – the whole person.

 

We're running a range of fun and free events in our libraries for our beloved senior communities. Come join us across the week to learn, connect and meet like-minded people!

Cuentacuentos - Storytimes in Spanish

Buenas noticias! We are happy to announce a new programme called Cuentacuentos. Storytime sessions entirely in Spanish!

Join us at Te Māhanga Karori Library every first Saturday of the month at 11 AM. 

Get ready for engaging storytelling and exciting activities that will entertain the whole whānau.

He Kete Pupuri Mahara: Memory bags

Memory bags | He Kete Pupuri Mahara are a collection of vintage items and images to encourage conversation and reminiscence for people with dementia or memory loss. They also contain specialised items and conversation cards to inspire discussion.

How does it work?

  • You can borrow a bag for three weeks and renew for another three weeks.
  • Memory Bags are free to borrow and free to reserve.
  • Memory Bags can be found on the catalogue.
  • For a mostly or completely damaged or lost memory bag, there is a $50 charge.
