Musician Interview: Emily Clemett and Christian Muñoz from Ska Pai
Listen to our interview with with Emily and Christian from Ska Pai, a high energy, 5-piece, Wellington-based Ska Punk band who have just released their latest EP, Ska Pie.
The album is fast-paced and infectiously danceable; a fun and upbeat explosion of energy, with its musical feet in the worlds of Ska and punk. Find the album on Spotify.
Emily Clemett, aka (Show Pony), is an all-round multi-instrumentalist and artist and is one of the glittering stars of the Wellington music scene. She has toured extensively round the UK and Europe and is in a whole host of Pōneke bands, working in a wide variety of styles and genres. Emily also has an art practice and runs a fabulous community music teaching project. Her current bands include The Wooden Box Band (find their album 'Far far away' on our catalogue), Ska Pai & Tropical Madness.
Christian Muñoz is the maestro behind the EP’s production as well as playing guitar, bass and singing backing vocals with the band. Christian also plays in a variety of other bands including Tropical Madness.
We were thrilled when Emily and Christian took time out of their very busy schedules to discuss Ska Pai and many of their other musical and artistic journeys (glitter, pies and wrestling, to name but a few of the other topics discussed). We wish to extend our heartfelt thanks to both Emily and Christian.
This interview was done in conjunction with Caffeine and Aspirin, the arts and entertainment review show on Radioactive FM, and was conducted by host Neil Johnstone.
