Tākaro Time

Kēmu, kōrero, katakata, kaputī! Games, talk, laughs, tea and biscuits! Join us for these free hangouts for anyone keen to practice their te reo Māori in a friendly and supportive environment.

A small group of adults, children and teens are sitting down together at a table, playing a board game in te reo Māori. There are cups of tea and packets of biscuits in the background.

Tākaro Time is a fun, free programme where tamariki (children), taiohi (teens) and pākeke (adults) can meet up to play fun te reo games and meet others with a passion for te reo Māori.

Expect fun, laughter, and a great chance to flex your language muscles – and hopefully learn a new kupu (word) or two!

Nau mai, haere mai – Māori learners of all ages and abilities are welcome. Tamariki and rangatahi under the age of 14 do need to be accompanied by an older whānau member.

Our regular schedule is presented below, but you can always check our event calendar for the most up-to-date times and locations.
