Tūtohua tētehi pukapuka - Suggest a book

Suggest that the library buy an item that we do not hold in our collection, or have on order.

You can use the form below to suggest that the library buy an item that we do not hold in our collection, or have on order.

Before you fill out the form, please note the following:

  • To be considered for purchase, items should have been published in the past year, or have a publication date no more than six months ahead. This is because many future publication dates are not fully reliable, and because our suppliers can’t guarantee to source older titles.
  • You can suggest up to four items per month for our physical collections.
  • If you are suggesting eBooks or eAudiobooks, please request these through the Notify Me on Libby.
  • If you are recommending we purchase a self-published title, please read our Self-published FAQs first: PDF version.

If we decide to purchase the item

If we decide to purchase the item and you have asked us to reserve it, the title will appear in your list of reserves. However, we cannot guarantee priority placement on a reserves list. (For more information on reserves, click here). The item will also appear in the online catalogue.

If we decide not to purchase the item

If we decide not to purchase the item, you will receive a notification.

Suggestions can be declined for several reasons, including that the item is unable to be sourced from our contractual suppliers, or that it may not meet some of the criteria in our Collection Development Policy.

Please note, our decision will be final and no further correspondence can be entered into.
