Tūhono

Tūhono is an annual poetry journal by young Wellington writers, aged from 5 to 18. It is produced and published by Wellington City Libraries.

Our kaupapa

Our kaupapa is to give all young people in Wellington the opportunity to have their work published and be part of the library's collection. Every poem submitted that meets the submission guidelines is included in Tūhono.

Tūhono is a uniquely Wellington collection of writing, capturing the thoughts and emotions of children and teens from all over the city and across time.

How can I contribute to Tūhono?

Once a year, we accept submissions from young writers to include in this journal. Submissions for Tūhono 2024 are now closed. Thank you to all who contributed!

Where can we find Tūhono?

Tūhono is available to borrow from our branch libraries and can also be accessed as an eBook on OverDrive and Libby.
