What is He Timotimo?

Nau mai, haere mai to the Library te reo Māori classes — 'He Timotimo'. The classes are free and have a new topic every week. Classes are aimed at beginner level and everyone is welcome. Will I get a qualification?

Sessions are intended to be introductory tasters that will give you the confidence to begin to speak Māori and perhaps continue your reo journey with formal language providers. You will not receive a formal qualification from this course.

Who are the teachers?

Our specially designed programme has been developed by Neavin Broughton and will be taught in association with Jordana Turahui.

Will there be time for questions?

The teacher will be available for 5-10 minutes once the session has finished to answer your questions.

Is it okay to bring my children?

Our sessions are not designed for children and child-minding facilities will not be provided. If you do need to bring your children you will need to be responsible for them though out the class in order to minimise disruption.
